The Ascension Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to fostering economic growth, promoting community development, and enhancing the overall quality of life in Ascension Parish and the surrounding region. The Ascension Chamber of Commerce is not affiliated with any governmental agency and is committed to serving our diverse membership and driving growth and prosperity in the community we serve.

Summary of the position:

The CEO leads the Ascension Chamber of Commerce, The CEO sets the strategic direction of the Chamber and is responsible for a full range of activities including, but not limited to, overseeing:

Financial stability and fiduciary responsibility
Staffing needs and development of the internal team
Day-to-day and ongoing operations
Short and long-term strategic planning and execution
Cultivating and executing strategic partnerships
Policy and legislative advocacy
Membership relations that promote growth and retention
The success and growth of the organization while consistently increasing value to membership

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking visionary leader who possesses the following qualities and experience:

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinking with experience in developing tactics that will improve the business climate and quality of life in the region
Diplomacy and a high level of emotional intelligence to effectively lead an internal team and engage with the Board of Directors to achieve strategic goals
Able to connect with and relate to all levels of membership, government representatives, and other Parish stakeholders to produce long term relationships that are vital to the growth and success of the organization
Financial and business acumen; experience operating a non-profit is preferred
Organized and proficient at conflict resolution
Bachelor’s degree or advance level career experience

Reporting Structure:

The CEO/President reports to the Board of Directors and operates within their established policies, directives, and guidelines.

Compensation & benefits:

Annual base salary $110,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience
Annual performance-based bonus up to 15% of annual
Medical insurance stipend
IRA with match
Paid Vacation & Sick time
Paid holidays
