Job Description

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has responsibility over all system hospital and ambulatory operations for Kaleida Health. Serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the COO will drive operational excellence across Kaleida Health and will ensure hospital, ambulatory and related services are delivered in accordance with established quality standards and financial operations. The COO also represents Kaleida Health to various community, public and governmental organizations. She/he will assist the CEO in the development of organization priorities and goals that cover operations, human resources, financial performance and growth.

Minimum Or Preferred Qualifications

BS in business, health administration or related field required. Master's in business, health administration or related field preferred. 10 years of experience in health system strategy, operations, leadership and management. Prior experience working in a major teaching hospital or academic medical center is desirable. Experience working in an organization moving from fee for service to value-based care. Experience in both the inpatient and ambulatory environment is required, as the COO will oversee the operations and future growth/development across the continuum of care. Able to effectively execute organizational strategies, measure progress and commit to continually seeking opportunities for process improvement. Effectively coach colleagues to ensure high performance and/or prepare for success in potential advancement opportunities. Has experience in developing talent and understands how to drive change through talent strategy. Able to make tough choices that serve the best interests of the organization. Proven creative problem-solving skills with the willingness to take the initiative in leading and managing change. Effective consensus builder and a team player. Strong negotiation and persuasion skills and is able to work with multiple stakeholders to bring about a broad perspective. Comfortable working in a diverse environment; has the ability to deal with ambiguity and adapts easily to rapidly changing business conditions. Has advanced analytical and decision-making skills to organize, plan, and coordinate operational activities of the health system and participate in long-term strategic plans for growth and has a track record of success in driving in key metrics. A self-motivated, visible leader who has an open-door policy and empowers others. Can build effective and sustainable relationships internally across Kaleida Health and externally with all key stakeholders and partners. Salary Range

$728,000-$864,000 annually *Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.*
