We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our executive leadership team. In this key role, you will oversee our financial strategy and operations, ensuring the organization's financial health and stability. As a collaborative leader, you’ll manage all fiscal and fiduciary aspects, from budgeting and forecasting to investor relations and cash management.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizational Strategy and Results:
- Partner with the CEO and COO to shape and execute the financial strategy, ensuring resources align with the organization's goals and risk management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, partners, and vendors.
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee budgeting, accounting, and cash management to provide accurate financial reporting and analysis.
- Lead the preparation of annual audits, tax returns, and consolidated financial statements.
- Implement and maintain controls to protect assets and improve internal financial policies and procedures.
- Manage cash flow, financial transactions, and real estate development capital needs.
- Supervise the Accounting Manager and team in day-to-day operations including month-end close, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Handle corporate liability and insurance policy negotiations.
- Real Estate Development and Asset Management:
- Collaborate with the CEO to assess potential acquisitions, debt, equity, and partnership proposals.
- Review legal agreements related to financing and construction, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Work with the Accounting Manager on funding requisitions and reporting for real estate development projects.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of equity draws and project cost reports to investors and agencies.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including at least three years in a CFO or Director of Finance role within a real estate development organization.
- Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
- Experience in real estate accounting and finance, particularly in multi-family housing or hospitality.
- Strong collaborative and flexible approach, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and individuals.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing financial systems and procedures.
- Excellent skills in preparing clear, accurate financial reports and effective verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software (experience with Real Page preferred), and network administration.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
