Our client is a publicly traded company based in the UK and a provider of a diverse portfolio of industrial products used all over the world. The business employs a highly decentralized operating model providing its operating companies significant autonomy. One of the operating companies is headquartered in the U.S. (Columbus, OH), maintains multiple facilities, and has significant growth and operational improvement opportunities. The organization is seeking a President/Managing Director.
Position Summary
The President/Managing Director will lead the $75M+ operating company toward profitable, sustainable growth and operating efficiency. Reporting directly to a Group President (who manages a portfolio of Americas businesses), the President owns full, stand-alone P&L responsibility.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Full end-to-end P&L responsibility for all aspects of the business – Marketing, R&D, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, HR, etc.
- Deliver year on year profit growth in the short, medium, and long-term with strong returns on capital.
- With your leadership team and in partnership with the Group President, develop, agree and deliver the strategy for the business.
- Through strategic and collaborative leadership, assess and identify opportunities to improve operational processes and efficiencies across the business. Raise the bar on operating discipline, rigor, and processes across all facilities. Instilling a culture of Continuous Improvement.
- Driving the organization to further commercial growth and optimize sustainable profit growth through the identification and prioritization of target niche markets. Customizing as appropriate the service offering, and communication strategy based on relevant value propositions for each target niche.
- Identifying potential M&A targets, performing due diligence, and integrating new acquisitions as necessary.
- Develop an exceptional, diverse leadership team and broader organization in terms of skills, knowledge, capability, and capacity. Demonstrate ability to recruit high caliber individuals across all key roles. The team should be capable of delivering superior growth and capable of addressing both current and future needs.
- Become a developer of talent for the broader enterprise.
- Establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of industry influencers, strategic and community partners, advisers, suppliers, customers, and colleagues.

Core Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering or Business discipline required. MBA or graduate degree preferred.
- At least three years full P&L responsibility in a manufacturing environment with an exceptional track record of delivering results.
- Ability to lead and pressure-test all direct reporting relationships from operational to commercial functions is necessary.
- Exhibited turnaround experience preferred.
