We are a leading hunger relief organization, serving a 21-county area with essential programs aimed at combating food insecurity. Beyond our core hunger relief efforts, we manage a regional produce cooperative, serve as a contract reclamation site for a major grocery division, and act as a staging site for disaster response.
Position Purpose
The CFO plays a vital role in shaping and executing our financial, information technology, and risk management strategies. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the CFO provides strategic guidance and ensures disciplined execution across all related functions. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO also serves as an ex-officio member of the Board's Finance Committee.
Finance Management
- Lead all aspects of financial management, including transactional accounting, treasury management, financial reporting, payroll, audits, financial analysis, and investment oversight.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the annual fiscal budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regular communication of risks and progress to the SLT, Finance Committee, and Board.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, relevant guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide consultative support to various departments, including Administrative, Philanthropy, Outreach, Programs, and Operations, on all financial matters.
- Utilize forward-looking financial models to inform strategic decision-making and evaluate alternatives.
Information Technology
- Develop and execute an overall information technology strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals.
- Oversee IT applications, vendor relationships, and technology changes or upgrades in collaboration with internal teams.
- Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and data privacy regulations.
Risk Management
- Assess and implement plans to mitigate business risks, ensuring the organization's insurance needs are met.
- Oversee business continuity programs and manage risk and compliance for health benefits, insurance policies, and retirement plans.
- Review and recommend agreements, contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate direct reports, fostering a positive work environment.
- Serve as an active member of the SLT, contributing to organizational development and strategic planning.
- Ensure team and organizational objectives are met or exceeded.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; an MBA or CPA is preferred.
- Extensive experience in high-level accounting, finance, or business management, with supervisory experience.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Work in both office and warehouse environments.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the position.
- Occasional travel required, including overnight stays.
