Our client is an international technology company headquartered in Switzerland with subsidiaries in European and Asian markets. The company offers innovative high-technology components, systems, and services for specialized applications serving various industries. The company is a key supplier to all major engine manufacturers in the US and has numerous clients in the gas processing industry.
Current US clients are served from Europe and Asia, but our client wants to reduce response times and unlock further growth opportunities in North America. The new US organization will be responsible for current revenues in the seven-digit range and is anticipated to grow in the eight-digit range in a few years.
TH Bender has been tasked to search for a sales-focused and hands-on Chief Executive Officer / General Manager to lead the U.S. subsidiary. He/she will have a solid track record with high-pressure products, review the sales strategy and current and future channel partners, and launch the new business unit to develop a strong market presence and a highly professional workforce.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and develop the company’s US commercial operations with a focus on sales and business development. Oversee logistics, warehouse operations, assembly, and local requalification/reconditioning capabilities.
- Participate in the development and execution of mid- and long-term plans, priorities, and goals for the US subsidiary.
- Develop sales strategies for all sales channels based on the market share and circumstances, including potential partnerships
- Drive sales and strategic targeting of key markets and clients and leverage existing connections for business growth opportunities (like trade / OEM business)
- Evaluate industry and business trends to identify and analyze opportunities for growth.
- Actively engage in the acquisition of new key customers while maintaining existing relationships.
- Perform budget and P&L management responsibilities.
- Represent the organization in important external business.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or any related discipline is required.
- Background in high-pressure technology for hydrogen and/or diesel engine applications is required.
- Several years of leadership experience in sales and business development and/or key account management coupled with applicable experience in general management.
- Solid market background and familiarity with the account base is strongly desired.
- Ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels and disciplines.
- Proven track record of setting up and/or green fielding a company or business unit is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a global organization and to utilize global resources.
