Job Summary:
The President is a newly created position whose goal will be to run the day-to-day operations of a very well established electrical contracting company with a fantastic reputation. You will work alongside the CEO to learn the business with the goal being for him to phase out into an Advisory role and for you to ascend to CEO. There is no specific timeline for this to happen, but it should happen within 2 years.
The Company has been in the area for decades and the growth is somewhat limited due to the difficulty of finding qualified Electricians and the amount of business that exists. You could expand to other parts of the state, but that brings its own set of challenges, so it just might be the right position for someone who wants to run a great business with great people in a great location.
The key functional leaders of the business including operations, warehouse, finance, and the electricians will report to you. The compensation package will include competitive salary and benefits, a company automobile, an annual bonus based on performance, and the potential for equity participation. We are open to relocation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations which can mean a different thing every day. Some days you will on the road meeting customers and some days you will be in your office working on the strategic plan
- Set and lead achievement of company revenue and profit goals
- Lead and motivate the Electricians who are the face of the company
- Manage and motivate a capable set of functional leaders in operations, warehouse, and finance to achieve overall company revenue and profitability growth objectives
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Electrician
- 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility and a proven ability to deliver growth and expand profitability
- Prior experience successfully leading and growing an electrical contracting company preferred
- Strong preference for a candidate with exceptional drive, passion, and history of results
- Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, motivate and retain exceptional talent
- Results-oriented with the ability to set and exceed revenue and profit targets
- Strong analytic, problem solving, and negotiating skills
- P&L management experience required
- Bachelor’s degree or extensive business-related experience
