About United Way of Treasure Valley:

The next leader of United Way of Treasure Valley (UWTV) will join a vibrant, highly trusted, and respected organization in our community. UWTV is recognized as a thought and action leader working collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders to improve and stabilize the lives of the area’s most vulnerable residents.

Nearing our 100th Anniversary, UWTV works closely with our business and corporate community, nonprofit organizations, individuals, and elected officials to identify, align and advance strategies and programs that create measurable change in our region.

Housed in Boise, Idaho the organization serves 11 counties in Idaho and two in Eastern Oregon. This broad and diverse area represents more than 40% of the total population of the region.

Position Summary:

The President & CEO of the United Way of Treasure Valley, establishes and delivers the vision of a community where all individuals and families achieve their potential through education, health and financial stability using the collective impact model. The President & CEO is the Chief Mobilizer; they leverage the power of relationships and networks, and work across private, public, and corporate sectors to improve conditions in the community. They possess a high level of broad business and management skills and are effective at both building positive culture and generating resources and financial support for the organization. They are dedicated to shared and measurable goals for the common good – creating, resourcing, scaling, and leveraging strategies for broad investment and impact. The President & CEO is the steward of the brand and understands their role in growing and protecting the reputation of UWTV. They are responsible for building trust in UWTV and its relevance in the community. They value networking and strive to leverage United Way’s breadth of community presence, relationships, and strategy.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

• Community Impact: Lead efforts to increase United Way of Treasure Valley's impact on the community, working with stakeholders to craft and deliver strategies for success

• Resource Development: Drive fundraising and revenue generation efforts, cultivating relationships with donors and prospective partners to secure financial support

• Strategic Leadership: Provide strong direction in policy formulation and interpretation, partnering with the Board and senior leadership team to set organizational goals and strategies

• Organizational Management: Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring alignment and collaboration to achieve organizational results. Maintain accountability for operational and fiscal integrity, supervising key positions, managing organizational spending, and prioritizing inclusiveness and diversity

• Board Partnership: Serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors, providing critical thought leadership and strategic guidance in planning, organizing, and directing the operations of the organization

• Community Engagement: Engage with key community stakeholders, including business, government, faith, and nonprofit sectors, to advocate for United Way's mission and drive impactful change

• Advocacy: Act as a leading voice and advocate on issues critical to the success of community impact efforts, utilizing persuasive communication and trust-building skills to drive change

• Brand Stewardship: Serves as the steward of the United Way brand, ensuring its growth and protection while building trust and relevance in the community

About the Role: The CEO/President of United Way of Treasure Valley, plays a pivotal role in leading our organization to achieve its mission. The ideal candidate will embody the following core competencies:

Education and Experience Requirements:

We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and recognize that various combinations of education and experience can contribute to the necessary knowledge and abilities for this role. We encourage candidates to showcase their unique qualifications.

Desired qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s degree a plus

• Ten or more years of experience in an individual contributor role with a minimum of 5 years executive leadership experience; nonprofit sector leadership experience preferred

• Demonstrated success in building and sustaining cross sector collaborations using best practice strategies and tactics

• Proven history of growing revenue through thoughtful planning and execution including fundraising, donor relations, corporate engagement, and other strategies

• Experience speaking and presenting to groups, media and/or other public gatherings

Physical Requirements and Travel:

The ability to meet standard physical demands of an office environment, including prolonged periods of computer use. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. Some in-state travel and limited out-of-state conferences annually.

Competitive Package:

We offer a competitive salary beginning at $120,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes company-subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as and a retirement match.
