SUMMARY

This position, reporting directly to the President & CFO, will serve as a key member of the finance management team and will oversee all the financial activities. This role will lead the company’s financial reporting and planning processes, including supporting the development of strategic plan updates, the annual budgeting process, monthly and quarterly rolling forecast updates, and monthly and quarterly analysis and special projects. A key aspect of the position will be to provide strategic support to senior management including preparing presentations, capital expenditures, and evaluating new business opportunities. This role will perform complex duties requiring advanced professional experience, leadership skills, knowledge, and competency in areas that go beyond the traditional accounting functions --- a role recognized as a "Business Partner". This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support optimal business decision-making throughout the organization.

POSITION DETAILS

Manages the preparation and maintenance of regular financial planning reports, including: monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyzes business results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, and issues financial statements and supporting reports.
Manages and schedules the monthly business review process.
Assumes responsibility for all transactions that are handled within the accounting department with an expectation of complete accuracy including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Oversees the management of cash collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
Ensures cash is managed prudently and provides regular cash forecasts.
Establishes and maintains appropriate internal control safeguards.
Set-up, and oversee, all financial and operational controls and metrics within the organization.
Analyzes the sales, product, and gross margins identifying problems, variances and declining trends. Recommends and implements solutions.
Develops and directs the annual strategic business plan process.
Responsibility over setting goals for the Finance team and evaluating team member performance.
Provides mentoring, leadership, and development to the Finance team which consists of: Inventory Control, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Purchasing.
Serves as liaison between the business and external auditors.
Assist Leadership Team with strategic planning processes and support the development of long-range strategic financial forecasts.
Ad-hoc reporting, analysis, special projects and presentations.

BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.
10+ years' of progressively responsible experience.
Made-to-order or metal fabrication manufacturing environment preferred.
