Responsibilities

The CEO is responsible for the delivery of all programs, products, and services and the effective overall daily operation of MAAR and the MLS. In addition, CEO will:

Develop strong relationships with MAAR Officers, volunteer leaders and members, and build trust levels amongst all
Cooperatively work closely with the Board of Directors to seek approval for programs, products, services, and policies
Collaboratively work with staff to implement Board of Directors-approved programs, products, services, and policies
Organize and plan the day-to-day operations of the Association; responsible for all personnel matters
Offer strategic insight and suggest actions that will advance MAAR’s effectiveness and interests
Understand and appreciate members’ real estate business challenges and propose programs to serve their changing needs
Encourage teamwork, high morale, accountability, and creativity among staff
Develop the budget, accounting and reporting systems to track performance; assure that all assets – financial and intellectual – are safeguarded
Hire, develop, organize, train and, if required, terminate staff to provide the best services and programs for members

Experience & Qualifications

Prime candidates should have at least 3 to 4 years of REALTOR® Association executive level management experience. Experience with an organization of 10+ employees and $1M+ budget desired. MLS experience a plus. Ideal candidates will have earned their RCE and/or CAE designations. In addition, they should be/have:

A proven relationship builder; strong people skills; encourage collaboration among leaders, members, staff, community partners and other groups
Adept strategic and tactical thinker, able to anticipate challenges by developing proactive responses
An organizational culture and staff attitude that is member-centric, friendly and supportive
Strong business management skills; financial control ability; able to make prudent, forward-moving decisions
Technologically adept; proven application for personal and business use
Politically astute; local legislative and regulatory influence success
Experienced with the dynamics of a volunteer-driven association and understand the nuances
Solid project manager, able to set priorities and also move multiple issues/programs forward
A workplace culture and structure that motivates staff to provide outstanding programs, products, and services for members
Able to positively and effectively represent MAAR members and their interests to all audiences
Experienced in developing staff and growing their leadership abilities
Be willing and able to travel on behalf of MAAR; participate in National Association of REALTORS®, Tennessee REALTORS®, and appropriate other REALTOR® organization and Association Executives meetings
