The schedule is Monday-Friday, 40hrs per week with a start time between 7:00am and 8:00am. This position is overtime exempt. The compensation for this position is $125k – 180k DOE/DOQ.

Braun Northwest is looking for the right candidate to fill our open Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position. The CFO is responsible for managing the company's finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. They lead a team of employees within Financial Services, Information Technology, and our Human Resources Departments.

This position supports the Finance Services Department functions and includes the following typical responsibilities:

Direct supervision of staff with overall management responsibility of the Finance Services Department. Including:

o Hiring new staff as needed

o Manage performance and develop current staff

o Oversight of general ledger, payroll, and time keeping systems

o Develop and manage finance processes with input from finance team to increase efficiency, accuracy, security, and fraud prevention.

Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs
Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting for the same
Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization
Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows
Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action
Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting
Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement
Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage the business insurance needs of the organization
Oversee HR operations by coordinating with external service providers (ex: payroll, benefits) and internal staff responsible for other aspects of HR
Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for board meetings, management team, and rest of company
Oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state attorneys general)
Model corporate values and hold team members accountable.
Develop collaborative and cooperative working relationships and be a valued team contributor.

Position Requirements:

Strong organizational skills, planning and problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels. Ability to research, write and to speak publicly. Also coaching, negotiating and the ability to tactfully confront employees as needed to change work processes, manage performance or de-escalate conflicts. Continual formal and informal education required as dictated by growth in business needs and in the Finance profession. Understanding of company’s basic manufacturing functions. An approachable rapport with all employees to learn from them and to effectively communicate with them.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance required.

Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance preferred. Professional certification (ex: Certified Public Accountant) also preferred.

Required Experience:

Five or more years of experience in a leadership role showing excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity. Five or more years of experience in advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.

Knowledge Requirements:

Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel). Must be able to perform public speaking and conduct detailed research. Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial or shop environment preferred.
